This article was forwarded to me and I thought I would share. The article focuses on five methods of instruction that individually show improvement, and suggested that teachers should be evaluated on their ability to incorporate these strategies.
I have personally noticed that the use of technology (like calculators or CAS) appears to be more challenging to teach with, but I have also noticed that it improves engagement. When used in concert with conceptual mastery techniques or strategies, which require more engagement than route memorization, I can see how scores improve.
